Pre-treatment Preparation & Aftercare
Pre-treatment
- Shave two days or at least 24 hours before the procedure. Never shave on the same day. If you do not shave, trim your hair so the product can reach the skin directly.
- Laser or waxing should be done at least one week before the procedure. Healthy skin is required for the Dermamelan Intimate session.
- Do not go to tanning beds two weeks before or two weeks after treatment. Prolonged sun exposure should be avoided for at least ten days before any professional treatment.
- Do not use other skin-lightening agents for the duration of treatment (i.e., Hydroquinone, Kojic acid, Azelaic acid, Arbutin, Retin-a, etc.). Discontinue the use of Glycolic acid products seven days before treatment and do not re-introduce them into the skin care regimen for 30 days post-treatment.
- You can engage in sexual activity 12 to 24 hours before the procedure.
Aftercare
- Do not have Botox®, Restylane®, Collagen, or other dermal filler for at least two weeks post-treatment.
- Do not go swimming for 48 to 72 hours after treatment.
- Waxing is permitted three weeks after the treatment. Once you use the Dermamelan gel cream at home, you can wax and shave as needed.
- You can resume sexual activity one week after the treatment. Friction could affect results.
- Avoid exercise the same day after the procedure.
When clients follow the recommended treatment steps, they notice a 70% to 80% improvement in pigmentation. Full results are seen 45 days after the in-office treatment and after the daily treatment at home.
The process can be repeated once every three to four months after the in-office treatment.

The Treatment Process
Phase 1: intensive depigmentation
Your treatment specialist will cleanse the area with gauze and lukewarm water and apply a protector to protect the mucosa, labia minora, and outer area. The Dermamelan Intimate peeling will be applied over the areas to be treated, followed by a post-peel neutralizing spray and the Dermalmelan Intimate mask.
Finally, an occlusive film will be placed over the treatment area, and you may return home.
Phase 2: regulation of hyperpigmentation
Remove the Dermamelan Intimate occlusive film and Dermamelan Intimate mask two hours after application at the clinic using plenty of lukewarm water. Apply a post-procedure crystal fiber intimate mask over the treated area and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
Forty-eight hours after the end of the clinic procedure, apply one or two pulses of Dermamelan Intimate home depigmenting gel cream to cover the area to be treated completely and evenly.
